Amongstnearly 30 pristine acres lies the Equine Performance Innovative Center (EPIC) Our journey began with a vision to create a facility that not only meets but exceeds the standards of equine and canine rehabilitation. EPIC, with its two 20-stall barns and specially designed air-conditioned therapy building featuring 12 x 24 heated stalls, is the embodiment of this vision. Recognized across disciplines for its unparalleled services, EPIC has established itself as the epitome of rehabilitation and conditioning excellence.

Our success stories are diverse, reflecting the breadth of our impact across the equine world, but this may be one of our favorites: Julie Jackson-Biegert brought us her mare, Princess Deelites MHF, when selected for the USA Young Riders Team. Utilizing our Aqua Pacer, Vibe Plate, Swimming pool, Track, and Eurosizer, Princess Deelites MHF reached the pinnacle of her fitness, which speaks volumes to our center’s capabilities.

Our Founder: Dr. Alberto Rullan, DVM
The Visionary Behind Equine Performance Innovative Center
Dr. Alberto Rullan, the founder of Equine Performance Innovative Center (EPIC), is a distinguished veterinarian whose passion and expertise have been the driving forces behind our center’s success. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine (2006) and holding a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University (2002), Dr. Rullan’s journey in veterinary medicine is marked by a deep commitment to equine health and welfare.
Dr. Rullan’s professional path was further shaped by an intensive one-year equine internship at Louisiana State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital and Clinic, where he gained advanced training in diagnostic and therapeutic techniques in equine medicine and surgery. His quest for knowledge didn’t stop there; he frequently travels to expand his understanding of veterinary medicine, with a keen focus on laminitis treatment and lameness diagnostics.
Dr. Rullan’s dedication extends beyond the confines of the clinic. He actively volunteers with the Equitation Initiative, an international non-profit organization devoted to providing veterinary care to horses in less fortunate communities and educating locals in essential veterinary care. This work reflects his deep commitment to making a global impact in equine health.
When not immersed in his veterinary endeavors, Dr. Rullan enjoys flying, spending quality time with his family, and occasionally riding his horse. He brings over a decade of experience in training Paso Fino horses at Rullan Enterprises in Puerto Rico, showcasing his diverse skills and interests within the equine world.
