Stanozolol intra-articular injection

We all know that osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease that significantly affects the performance of our horses, as it does in human athletes.

That’s the reason we are always looking and researching about new therapeutic alternatives to reduce pain, improve joint functions and minimize joint tissue degradation.

This is how we achieve good performance and a healthy life in horses with arthritis.

Stanozolol is a synthetic anabolic steroid that has been shown to have joint protecting effects, preventing damage in the joint capsule and cartilage. It was researched and released in Europe as Sungate.

In a 2015 study of 24 horses with acute or chronic fetlock osteoarthritis, stanolozol improved lameness in 83.3% of horses administered multiple Intra-articular doses of the drug. At 60 days post-treatment, 71.4% of acutely arthritic horses were sound, 95.7% of chronically arthritic horses had improved, and 57.9% of chronic cases were sound. (2018 BEVA Congress).

This shows to be a very viable new tool for us to help our patients. Up to know we have injected about 300 joints with this product and they ave all shown great results.

Bone cysts treatment

We have also been using Stanozolol for treating bone cyst in the stifle joints. Like the one on the picture on the right

Stanozolol can be used in combination with other therapies
