Older dogs can benefit from rehabilitation and conditioning. When working with geriatric dogs, we focus on improving or maintaining mobility, decreasing pain, while also helping to enhance a dog’s overall fitness.
Key Uses:
Arthritis, rear-leg weakness, degenerative myelopathy, decreased activity tolerance, and incontinence.
Frequency:
Water therapy – varies depending on the dog’s endurance. The general goal is 5-15 minutes of sustained water therapy. 1 time a week is usually effective, while 2 times a week is more beneficial.
Laser Therapy – every other day is usually effective.
